We’re all learning, and no one should give you too much grief over wine pronunciation. However, doing a little research beforehand can save you from a good deal of embarrassment, and maybe even impress a few people along the way.
One thing to remember…
Most wines retain the pronunciation of their respective country, which can make first-time guessing difficult. Don’t be afraid to look up the phonetic spelling of a wine BEFORE you buy.
This can be a little tricky if you’re ordering from a restaurant, but in our modern age, you’ve probably got a smartphone. Download a dictionary app and you should be just fine.
